What is occupational therapy
Occupational Therapy (OT) is a regulated health care profession that promotes participation in meaningful everyday occupations (activities). By using play-based therapeutic activities and /or through environmental modification children develop the skills they need to engage in important day to day activities at home, school or in the community. OTs working with children can facilitate the development of sensory processing, fine and gross motor, organizational, visual-motor, motor planning, and the adaptive skills needed to be successful during play, socialization, activities of daily living, and learning experiences.
